Our interlocks are made by a trusted brand in the USA and are approved by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) for the New Zealand interlock program. They are used in more than 1,800 locations worldwide, providing reliable and accurate results.

To get your interlock installed, simply provide us with your details, and we will arrange a time for installation at your nearest service center. Typically, we can have an alcohol interlock installed in your vehicle within 1-2 days.

An alcohol interlock is a breathalyzer that is wired into your car's ignition system. It records every start, stop, test result, violation, and kilometers driven, which is then available as a report for authorities to view. Before starting your vehicle, you will need to provide an alcohol-free breath sample. Once you pass the test, you can start your vehicle. While driving, the interlock will randomly call for tests that must be taken to ensure sobriety.

Every month, you need to take your vehicle back to a service center to download the data and calibrate the interlock. This process takes about 15 minutes, and the monthly payment is made at the time of the service.

We recommend using an accurate personal breathalyzer to test yourself before blowing into your interlock, as this can help prevent accidental violations. However, using your interlock device as a tool to test your alcohol level will be recorded as a violation and may extend the length of time you have the interlock installed.

If you are eligible for the alcohol interlock subsidy, leasing an interlock will only cost you $149 per month. The subsidy covers the cost of your alcohol interlock license, installation, $50 per month towards the lease, removal, and your zero alcohol license at the end of the program. If you are not eligible for the subsidy, the standard pricing is $199 per month, and you will also have to pay for the initial installation and removal at the end of the program.

When getting your interlock installed, you will pay the installation fee and your first monthly lease to the service center. Additional fees may apply if you do not adhere to the program requirements.

The interlock device is roughly the size of your hand and can be mounted on a clip on your dashboard or stored near your gear lever. It does not need to be visible to anyone outside your vehicle. It is only connected to the wiring under the dash and under the bonnet, and at the end of the program, this wiring is restored to pre-installation conditions.
