At New Shoots, we pride ourselves on being a beautiful, boutique home away from home. Conveniently nestled between Pakuranga, Botany, and Highland Park, our purpose-built centre is designed to delight the senses from the moment you walk through the door. The scent of home cooking and the sound of giggling children create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

As part of the Enviroschools program, New Shoots Pakuranga is committed to empowering children to create a healthy, peaceful, and sustainable planet through learning and collective action. Our community garden provides hands-on discovery in nature, Māori perspectives, and a respect for diversity. Children have ample space in our large outdoor play area to explore and take the lead in their own unique way. From climbing logs to biking along pathways, our three-tiered sandpit is a favorite among the children.

Inside our centre, our passionate kaiako (teachers) believe in the power of play and tailor each room to meet the needs of our growing tamariki (children). We focus on nurturing relationships with infants as they find their feet, while older children can join Kelly Sports for fun, weekly group lessons targeting gross motor skills. Preschoolers have the opportunity to participate in Forest Kindy, an outdoor exploration program that fosters confidence, resilience, and independence.

Throughout the year, we host a variety of events that reflect our diverse community, including Matariki, Chinese New Year, and Grandparents' Day. These special occasions bring us together through connection, food, and shared cultural experiences.

Our fees include nappies, meals, wet bags, bags, and hats/beanies. At New Shoots, every day is seen as a new opportunity for children to connect, thrive, and build a lifelong love of learning. We operate as a full-day service and do not offer short days or sessions. Our high-quality teacher ratios exceed Ministry of Education standards, ensuring that your child receives the attention they deserve. Minimum enrolment is two days per week, and a $50 enrolment fee is required to secure your place. If you have two or more children attending New Shoots full time, you will receive a 10% discount on your eldest child's fees. Nappies and food are provided, but formula must be brought from home if required. Please note that a two-week notice is required for terminating enrolment.
