Welcome to Bairds Kindergarten, located at 20 Edward Avenue in Otara, Auckland. As an inclusive institution, we value the diverse cultures of our staff, children, and their whānau. Our passionate team is dedicated to helping children realize their full potential.

At Bairds Kindergarten, we believe in the importance of family involvement. That's why we have a dedicated Parent Whānau Support Group who work closely with our staff to provide amazing family events and engaging opportunities for the kindergarten community. We encourage families to actively participate in parent meetings, workshops, storypark, portfolios, scrapbooks, team meetings, school visits, trips, and special events.

We strongly believe that it takes a village to raise a child, which is why we prioritize involving our families and community in our kindergarten environment. Many of our current parents actually attended Bairds Kindergarten when they were younger, and their involvement in their children's education is highly valued. To foster collaboration, we have created whānau teams - Phoenix, Taniwhas, and Sharks - which have encouraged families, children, and teachers to work together.

Our dedicated kaiako are skilled in implementing the Incredible Years Teacher Programme, which supports young children with self-regulation and their social, emotional, and academic competence.

In our learning program, we prioritize children's interests and include excursions into the local and wider community. Children are happy and engaged in their self-chosen activities, and we affirm their languages and cultural identity while supporting their use of home languages.

Bairds Kindergarten operates from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, and our office hours are from 8 am to 4:45 pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
