"A lovely space for dogs, with excellent recall, to run free, socialise & swim. Currently, there are major ground works at the Western End of the beach which has taken over most of the grassed area. Long term this will hopefully be a positive because a new Harbour Walkway is under development. It will be interesting to see how this enhancement for Wellington & Lower Hutt will affect the dog off lead restrictions. It will be devastating if they are taken away."
"NOTE: Original post was November 2022. I went at 630am to avoid the "rush" of dogs/owners I knew would be there as the day was going to be nice. Great place to go with your fur baby."

"An awesome place to walk with lots of breeze from the sea side. It's a beautiful view where on one side you have the green bushy mountains and the other side with the blue sea. It's very cold and refreshing for the people and their pets. The dogs can walk and run around, play and have fun. In the mornings and the evenings, there would be mist covering the mountains and it's a bliss to watch that."
"Great dog walking spot. Big carpark opposite Bunnings. It's usually busy if the weather is nice. BYO balls or just pick up a stick for your dog. Plenty of large bits of driftwood along the way for having a seat and taking a break. Bags are usually available and rubbish bins are in several places. My favourite place to take my dog."
