"Bought 2 x toilet roll holders. Opened 1 and saw immediately it wasn’t compatible with the tile fixing already in place on bathroom wall. Put the holder back in the box and returned to get compatible replacements. Due to there being no suitable replacement we asked for a refund. All of a sudden they said 1 had been used, on close inspection you could see there was a residue on the back plate. They argued that as it had been used they couldn’t refund…. We never opened both boxes so hadn’t seen this. This is how they sold it!! Upshot is if you buy an item make sure it’s in as new condition because if you need to return item(s) they’ll accuse you of having used it when you haven’t! Or better still go elsewhere! One rule for them and one rule for you! After toing and froing they offered to refund less their 30% restock fee. We refused as would rather give them away than deal anymore with these people! Buyer beware! In the past we’ve always dealt with the Petone store who 100% go out of their way to help you. Response to Crown: As we told you we took the fittings out of the box and realised straight away it wasn’t compatible. And returned to you. We had purchased 2?9of these. Do you honestly think we’d of shown you something we’d attached to the wall and returned it. On even closer inspection it looks like the galvanising on the plate is breaking down. If you think it’s sealant then you know more about it than we do! If it had of been compatible with our wall fitting we would only have screwed it in place. Good business practice = honesty! You fail 100%"

"Stay away, cheap & very nasty! These people are terrible with horrible after sales service! (in particular Terry) We purchased a bath & toilet from the Porirua store & the toilet was delivered to us without a lid on the cistern. We complained & they accused us of loosing the lid (I mean how do you loose a blinking porcelain cistern lid?!) They did not want to replace but instead offered us an entire new cistern full price!!!..dodgy & extremely rude people. not worth the 1 star! ...PS all the 5 star reviews for this place are clearly spam & totally fake! Go on Crown respond with lies like all the other legitimate reviews!..just look how rude all of their responses below are to give you an idea of how they do business."
