Te Oro 98 Line Road, Glen Innes, Auckland 1072
About the Business
Welcome to Te Oro, a vibrant establishment and point of interest located at 98 Line Road in Auckland, New Zealand. Our institution, also known as The Painters Club, is dedicated to providing aspiring young artists with a space to learn new skills, unleash their creativity, and connect with others who share a passion for art.
Te Oro is the realization of a long-held community dream in Glen Innes, offering a dedicated music and arts center for young people. This multi-purpose space serves as a hub where young individuals and the local community can come together to perform, practice, and learn various art forms. It is a place where creativity and talent are nurtured, and cultural celebrations are embraced.
The name "Te Oro" has been graciously gifted to our center by Ngāti Pāoa, with the endorsement of Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei. "Oro" refers to the tonal reverberation or sound within a chamber, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of this region. This resonant sound is reminiscent of Maungarei - Mt Wellington, in its natural state, where the winds create a low drone over its volcanic crater. This natural phenomenon predates the migration of waka (canoes) landing in the Tāmaki Makaurau region, adding to the historical significance of Te Oro.
At Te Oro, we strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where young artists can thrive. Whether you're interested in painting, music, dance, theater, or any other artistic form, our institution offers a range of programs, workshops, and events to help you develop your skills and express yourself.

"This is a beautiful building and has great activities and events that the community can enjoy. The staff were super helpful. Great venue to host your events. I believe it can seat 150 in the auditorium but they also have other rooms for hire."
"Went to see a wonderful performance called "One Call". Has a comfortable vibe and near takeaways too"
