"Mould alert! For $700 for 4 nights we wernt too worried about the look of the motel, however this places needs a deep clean and updating. Black mould half way up the shower curtain (we brought a replacement for them for $7 at the warehouse), black mould on the bathroom ceiling, no ventilation except windows in the bathroom so they had mould too. Rusty fridge, stained bed spreads, and toilet seat had lost its top film and stained yellow. No built-in heating, but there was a small oil heater and fan heater in the rooms, along with a dehumidifier that we used everyday as the condensation was extensive. Not all the bed sheets we changed each day. Location was also good."
"Where comfort meets location- we loved our stay at the Lodge! Wonderfully situated near the train station, a wonderful coffee shop (Handpicked Roasters), bottle shop, superette, and many tasty international food options. It is an older building, but we found it cozy and loved the bed heaters, dining area, and the fact that they had all the fifa football channels. If you're looking for an affordable, comfy spot outside of the city, this is it!"
"Nice place to stay. Although well kitted (oven, hob, fridge, and microwave), it is fairly basic but clean, and for us, the location was superb. There are nearby restaurants and a rail line / bus routes into Auckland. If you like a stroll before or after a match, then Eden Park is walkable. If not, you can get the train. Biggest downside? It has quite possibly Auckland's slowest internet."
"The location was great for us. As it was the cheapest place we could find for the 5 of us, our expectations were not high. Rust & and damage on the fridge front and a very rusty light in the bathroom. Sqeeky bedroom door would wake the dead. The main issue was cocroaches. We killed over a dozen. This was reported to the office, and they said they would call the exterminator."
