Welcome to Glen Eden Playcentre, a unique early childhood education and family development institution located in the heart of Auckland's Glen Eden village. As a Playcentre, we offer a one-of-a-kind experience that values and supports parents as the primary educators of their children.

At Glen Eden Playcentre, we provide a warm and friendly environment where families can come together to play, learn, and grow. Our centre welcomes families with children of all ages, from newborns to school-aged kids, at any time throughout the year.

Our approach to education is child-centered, allowing children to engage in self-directed and initiated play. With mixed-age sessions, children have the opportunity to learn from and care for each other, fostering a sense of community and cooperation.

Our facilities are well-equipped to cater to every child's interests and imagination. From a huge sandpit, two playgrounds, and an open grassy area to a wide range of play equipment and educational resources, we provide endless opportunities for exploration, creativity, and learning. Children can engage in activities such as puzzles, reading, singing, experimenting, playing musical instruments, dressing up, face painting, gardening, carpentry, baking, playing games, swinging, sliding, building, dancing, and spending time in nature. We believe in providing a diverse range of experiences that allow children to get messy, grow, and develop holistically.

But it's not just the children who benefit at Glen Eden Playcentre. Parents also have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside their children. We offer free Playcentre early childhood education courses and first aid training to all parents, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to support their child's development. Additionally, we promote the use of New Zealand Sign Language during our sessions, creating an inclusive and enriching environment for all.
