Reviews
"Private birthday dinner. Function room was cold and looked rushed in set up. Needed a better effort for a group of 16 paying customers. Staff turned heat on after we arrived and kept kitchen door open most of the evening. Waiting staff were average. Told at ordering time pizza was off menu because there was no cheese. Sister and I chose the $50 platter.. unbelievable rip off of size and quality. Realistically the platter was worth $25. Worst platter I’ve ever had. My personal review of my visit. The chowder looked like a winner. Definitely prefer the Realm in Hataitai for consistency and satisfaction"
"We didn't win the meat raffle but highly recommend the food Awesum Friendly Staff good parking and Locals actually talk to u and invite u to their table well worth the visit"
"The food is really good and price is reasonable. We had a starter and pizza and a couple of ciders, so not too complicated an order. Table service was friendly and efficient although the tables felt a little close to each other. (Maybe background music could be used to create some faux privacy when the tables are all in use?) By 8:30pm the dining area was pretty empty. All in all a nice experience."
"We were staying at a B&B, and this restaurant was recommended. We ended up pulling up, luckily we parked on the street on the way because as we walked up there was no parking available in their small lot. The mirrored doors leading into the place was different. We walked in and there were a few patrons, mostly drinking or playing billiards in the back. A staff member finally came out of the back and took a guy at the bar order. We were then seated after he was finished. We ordered the fish and chips and the lamb shank. I assumed the lamb shank would be tender, fall off the bone. But it was tough. Didn't taste particular fresh, but then again I am not a normal lamb eater. I was not a fan. Barely any shallot taste or shallots. Found what looked like to be a regular onion slice. The green beans were canned or frozen, or they were parboiled before hand. The fish and chips came with a small salad. No malt vinegar, only white vinegar that the other server brought out. Husband liked their tartar sauce and tomato with his fish. The fish tasted really fishy, which fish should not taste fishy, it should taste like the sea/ ocean. It should be a fresh flavor, not a lingering fish taste. Staff were friendly and the fireplace was warm. The food, I could pass."
