About the Business
Welcome to the Centre for eResearch and Digital Innovation (CeRDI), located in the picturesque city of Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, CeRDI is at the forefront of revolutionizing research and innovation in the digital era.
At CeRDI, we are proud to be involved in groundbreaking projects that have a significant impact on various sectors. One such project is the Soil CRC cloud-based research data federation, which aims to visualize and optimize the productivity, yield, and profitability of farming businesses while ensuring their long-term sustainability.
Our commitment to environmental preservation is evident through the Yarra Catchment Atlas, an online spatial information portal that showcases valuable biodiversity, environmental, and cultural information. Additionally, our collaboration with DEECA researchers allows us to utilize citizen-captured photos and sightings of whales to aid in their identification and cataloging.
CeRDI is also actively involved in the Rangelands Carbon project, which supports research to transform how rangeland farmers estimate, manage, and trade carbon. Through this initiative, we strive to empower farmers with accurate data and information to make informed decisions about their properties, facilitated by our innovative My Farm Dashboard.
In line with our dedication to the agrifood industry, CeRDI is a proud participant in the Food Agility CRC, an innovation hub that creates cutting-edge digital technologies and services for the benefit of Australian agriculture.
We firmly believe in the power of data and its democratization. Through our Data Federations in Agriculture, we aim to unlock the value of digital agriculture and promote data sharing for the greater good.
In times of drought, the Victoria Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub play a vital role in equipping farm businesses with the knowledge and tools to be more informed and productive. This initiative helps build resilience and prepares farmers for future droughts.
CeRDI's commitment to making agriculture data FAIR (Findable, Interoperable, Accessible, and Reusable) is evident through our involvement in the Agricultural Research Federation project. By ensuring data interoperability, we aim to facilitate seamless access and utilization of agricultural data.
We are living in an era of Data Democracy, where communities can interact with data in ways that were once unimaginable. CeRDI is proud to be a global leader in data interoperability, with numerous award-winning web-based spatial information and knowledge portals. These portals provide public access to data sets that were previously hidden from view, empowering individuals and organizations with valuable information.
Join us at CeRDI as we continue to push boundaries, drive innovation, and unlock the potential of digital research and data. Together, we can shape a more sustainable and prosperous future for Australia and beyond.
