Welcome to Pikopiko Clyde Quay Kindergarten, located in the vibrant inner city suburb of Mount Victoria in Wellington, New Zealand. Situated on the grounds of Clyde Quay School, our kindergarten shares a playground with the school children, providing a unique opportunity for our little ones to develop knowledge and connections with the school.

At Pikopiko Clyde Quay Kindergarten, we believe in fostering a smooth transition for our children, both to kindergarten and to their future schools. We encourage older siblings to visit, and actively involve whānau (family) in the learning process. By observing and learning from the routines of the older children, our little ones confidently anticipate their own journey to school.

Our diverse and multicultural kindergarten whānau is drawn from the local and wider Wellington community. Families have developed a supportive and friendly network, creating a warm and inclusive environment for all. We value and celebrate the bi-cultural heritage of our country, and incorporate the various cultures and talents of our families into our programme to enrich the learning experience.

At Pikopiko Clyde Quay Kindergarten, we take pride in our team of 100% qualified registered teachers. With three qualified teachers present at each session of 30 children, we are able to provide a high-quality programme that supports and extends each child's individual and group interests.

Children's interests are central to our programme, and we plan activities to support their learning both individually and in groups. Our responsive and flexible programme includes seasonal and cultural celebrations, as well as local events. We welcome the input of our parents and their connections, ensuring a collaborative and engaging experience for all.

Throughout the day, children have the freedom to choose their own activities, promoting independence and a sense of agency. Our activities are age-appropriate and focus on nurturing children's skills as independent thinkers, investigators, and explorers. Above all, we believe in creating an environment where children see themselves as competent and capable learners while having fun.
