Welcome to Seatoun Kindergarten, the only early childhood centre in Seatoun, New Zealand. Located next to Seatoun School, we have a strong relationship with the school, including transition programs, ensuring a smooth educational journey for your child.

At Seatoun Kindergarten, we have an inclusive open-door policy, providing opportunities to meet the needs of our community. We work in partnership with whānau (family) to meet individual needs, offering sibling placements and flexible days and sessions.

Our dedicated teaching team maintains positive relationships with children, respecting their individuality, culture, and place within the kindergarten community. We take the time to listen and work alongside each child, meeting them at their level of understanding.

Creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels they can belong is our priority at Seatoun Kindergarten. We have set morning tea and lunch times to support children with food allergies, ensuring their safety and inclusion.

Respecting and supporting the cultural needs of our community is essential to us. We celebrate diversity through cultural celebrations and by inviting community groups to share their cultures with us, fostering a sense of unity and understanding.

We believe that children are gifts with a history and a connection to their whānau. We value whānau input and celebrate the knowledge they share with us. Our teaching team is 100% trained and registered, committed to ongoing professional development to ensure the best outcomes for our tamariki (children). We continuously strive to enhance our skills and knowledge to provide the highest quality education and care.

One of our highlights is our amazing outdoor environment, designed to support children's learning through risk-taking, active exploration, and the development of working theories about the natural world. We have created a sustainability culture, nurturing Papatuanuku (Mother Earth) and instilling in our children a sense of responsibility for the environment.
