Reviews
"This trek is moderate. Just on few instances it will get very steep after you cross its all comfortable. I have been trekking since very young so even if I had my flat shoes on I know how to step on what and on top it rained the previous night but no worries about it however for a beginner it will be difficult. So carry your trek or walking shoes. Should avoid during rain it will get slippery. I loved it and go again someday."
"I'm not a sporty, super fit person, but I love the steady incline on this walk. Take your time. Beautiful views. Sometimes muddy underfoot after rain."
"Great hike up the Te Whiti Riser fire break track to the top of the ridge. The views at the top are worth the slog up the steep fire break and there are more options to walk along the ridge if that isn't enough walking for you. The trails around this area are all shared pedestrian and cycle trails so watch out for other trail users coming past."
"Very cool very steep hike. Did it with my young kids, they loved it too. Very memorable with a variety of path options including dense subtropical rainforest and exposed fire roads. Saw two other hikers on a Monday afternoon."
"Excellent walking trail in Hutt region. We took Fire break. O boy, it was steep one and for sure it test your fitness. When you reach the top, that's the reward "breathtaking" view. Walking down is another challenge. Need a good shoe grip and we need to be careful as it is steep with loose rock."
