Welcome to Space Wellington, located at Normanby Street in Wellington, New Zealand. We are an establishment and point of interest that offers a unique and valuable programme called SPACE (Supporting Parents Alongside Children’s Education). Our programme is facilitated by experienced and qualified teachers who are passionate about infant development and the holistic wellbeing of infants, parents, and whānau (extended family).

At Space Wellington, we understand that the first year of parenting can be both exciting and challenging. That's why our SPACE programme aims to provide you with valuable information and support that will give you confidence in your parenting journey. Through our programme, you will also have the opportunity to connect with other parents who are going through similar experiences.

As part of our commitment to supporting families, we are connected to and part of a community services hub and the Salvation Army church. This allows us to offer wrap-around support services for families, including playgroup, counselling, foodbank, and a vegetable co-op. We believe in providing comprehensive support for the whole family, ensuring that everyone's needs are met.

Our SPACE parenting programmes run four mornings a week, from Monday to Thursday, from 9:00am to 11:30am. Each session accommodates 15 babies and their parents. We start a new programme at the beginning of every term, offering two options depending on the age of your baby.

Our three-term programme is ideal for babies aged approximately 3 to 5 months old. The first two terms cover topics related to your baby's physical, social, and emotional development throughout their first year. We also provide supportive discussions about becoming a parent in a safe and enjoyable environment. In the final term, we focus on play experiences that showcase how play extends your child's learning, while ensuring plenty of fun along the way.

For those who missed out on joining our programme earlier, we offer a two-term programme ideal for babies aged approximately 5 to 9 months old. This programme starts regularly in January and July each year and consists of one term of discussion topics relevant to the later stage of your parenting journey and your baby's age, followed by a term of play experiences that allow you to engage with your baby in a playful environment.
