About the Business
Welcome to Mindful Directions Psychology Services, located at 539 Albany Highway in Auckland, New Zealand. We are an establishment focused on providing health services and are a point of interest for individuals seeking support for their mental well-being.
Are you a concerned parent worried about your child's engagement in learning, behavior, social and emotional development, or mental health? Look no further. Debbie Kenwright, an Educational Psychologist, specializes in using a range of specialized psychological and academic assessments, interviews with parents and teachers, and observations to gain insight into your child's intellectual potential, academic achievement, giftedness, and barriers to learning. Debbie can also provide diagnosis of Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and assess overall functioning.
Through the assessment process, Debbie aims to help families understand why their child may be struggling and provide evidence-based recommendations to support both you and your child in managing their individual needs, whether they be social, emotional, psychological, or behavioral. Often, simple changes in the child's environment, teaching approaches, and access to appropriate support and resources can make a significant difference in their well-being.
As parents, our ultimate goal is to see our children happy and well-supported in reaching their full potential. At Mindful Directions, we strive to make that a reality.
Are you a teacher concerned about how to support your students' engagement in learning, behavior, social and emotional development, or mental health? Debbie Kenwright can provide professional development tailored to your unique needs. Whether through her developed programs or customized workshops, Debbie offers evidence-based workshops that help educators become reflective practitioners, expand their knowledge base, and gain a deeper understanding of strategies to implement in their daily teaching practices. By making changes in the child's environment and providing appropriate support and resources, significant improvements can often be achieved.
At Mindful Directions, we also offer anxiety programs for children and their families. Is your child showing signs of anxiety, lack of resilience, emotional outbursts, or withdrawal? Debbie Kenwright, as an accredited trainer in both the Cool Kids Anxiety Program and Triple P - Fearless Anxiety Program, understands the increasing prevalence of anxiety among children and young people. These programs are designed as family interventions, where parents learn about anxiety and develop skills to reduce its impact on their child and family. Anxiety is not solely a child's problem; it is influenced by the context in which it occurs. We aim to provide a compassionate response based on evidence-based understanding, empowering parents to support their anxious child effectively.
At Mindful Directions, we provide educational psychology services to children, parents, caregivers, and individuals. Our approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused. We strive to increase caregivers' competence and confidence in meeting their child's unique needs, while also supporting individuals to thrive.
