Welcome to the Caroline Stewart School of Dance (CSSD), located at 119 George Street in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. Established in 1991 with just eight students and offering jazz classes, CSSD has grown to become a renowned institution for dance education.

At CSSD, we believe in providing a safe and friendly environment for our dancers to develop their skills and technique. Whether your student dances for fun or is filled with passion, we have something for everyone. Our dance classes not only teach you how to dance, but also instill important qualities such as self-confidence, teamwork, perseverance, commitment, and discipline.

In 2013, CSSD moved into our own premises at 119 George Street, Stokes Valley, after 21 years of hiring a hall. This exciting development allowed our teachers and students to have a dedicated studio space designed specifically for dance. Our main studio features a special sprung floor, a full wall of mirrors, and barres, ensuring the best possible dance experience. Additionally, we have a smaller studio equipped with mirrors and barres.

One of our unique offerings is the NZAMD American Tap Syllabus, a rhythmical and exciting syllabus created by Keith Clifton from the USA. This syllabus provides a structured approach to tap dancing, allowing students to develop their skills in a fun and enjoyable way. In addition to the syllabus-based classes, we also offer popular non-syllabus classes inspired by shows like "Britain's Got Talent" and "World of Dance".
