One of our remarkable stories involves Ross Burrows, a former Medical Chief in the Royal New Zealand Navy. When Ross joined a fitness class for men with prostate cancer, he never expected to reunite with an old friend. This heartwarming Navy friendship rekindled his spirit and motivated him to learn more about the urological condition he was facing.

In addition to our commitment to education and support, we also engage in fundraising efforts for cancer research and prostate cancer awareness. Maurice Bevin, a prostate cancer patient, is using his trip back to New Zealand to not only see his oncologist but also raise funds for cancer research. We believe that through these initiatives, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by prostate cancer.

The recently released PCOR-ANZ Annual Report highlights the need for an improved pathway to prostate cancer diagnosis in New Zealand. While early and accurate diagnosis has been proven to save lives and enhance the quality of care, there is still work to be done. We strive to advocate for better healthcare outcomes for Kiwi men and support initiatives that promote early detection.
