Welcome to Tai Tamariki Kindergarten, located in the heart of Wellington, New Zealand. Situated on Cable Street, our establishment is not only a point of interest, but also a whānau-based full day model for children aged 1-5 years. With a license for 30 tamariki, we provide a unique learning environment where children of all ages can learn alongside each other, surrounded by the rich cultural context of Te Papa Tongarewa.

At Tai Tamariki Kindergarten, we believe that our setting and central community are valuable extensions of our learning environment. Our vision is to create a welcoming space where tamariki are enriched through playful inquiry. We strive to nurture their curiosity, challenge them, and encourage reflection, all while developing the knowledge and skills that will support them in becoming capable and confident learners.

We understand the importance of recognizing and responding to the individual and shared interests of our tamariki as they emerge through their play and interactions with others. As a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the founding document of Aotearoa, we embrace our bi-cultural heritage and strive to make Te Reo Māori me Ona Tikanga visible and meaningful within our kindergarten.

Our friendly teaching team fosters a welcoming and supportive approach that encourages respect for everyone. We firmly believe that the best possible learning outcomes for tamariki are achieved when kaiako (teachers) have an authentic and nurturing whanaungatanga (relationship) with them and their whānau (family).
