Welcome to Tawa Central Kindergarten, located at 21 Oxford Street, Wellington, New Zealand. We are proud to be a part of the New Zealand Kindergartens Te Pūtahi Kura Puhou o Aotearoa, a trusted institution that has been woven into the fabric of New Zealand society for many years.

Our commitment to providing quality early childhood education is exemplified by our team of 100% qualified teaching staff. Our teachers are registered professionals who adhere to the same legislation and code of practice as teachers in schools. This ensures that your child receives the best education and ongoing development opportunities.

As a Not-For-Profit Incorporated Society and registered charity, we are governed by a board comprised of elected and appointed members. Our dedication to best practice governance is reflected in our adoption of the New Zealand Institute of Directors' Four Pillars methodology. We are proud to represent 14 local Kindergarten Associations, each governed by their own board of elected and appointed members.

In addition to working closely with our member Associations, we collaborate with Early Childhood Leadership (ECL) – Counties Manukau, Waikato, and Central Kids Kindergarten Associations. This partnership allows us to advance mutually beneficial agendas and ensure the continued growth and success of early childhood education.

We operate during two main periods throughout the year, with the first being from late January (please check with your local association) until Thursday 14 April, and the second from Monday 17 October until late December (please check with your local association). These dates may vary, so please reach out to your local association for specific information.
