Established in 2017, Summit Point School holds the distinction of being the nation's first registered, full curriculum school for dyslexic learners. We are proud to be a member of the Independent Schools of New Zealand and a registered charity, demonstrating our commitment to providing exceptional education to children and adolescents with specific learning differences.

At Summit Point School, we cater to students with a range of specific learning differences, including dyslexia, 2e, APD, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and anxiety. Our institution accepts enrolments for Years 2 to 8, with two campuses available to accommodate our senior and junior cohorts. Our senior students are located in Grey Lynn, while our junior cohort is based in Takapuna.

What sets us apart from mainstream schools is our unique approach to education. We combine internationally recognized research-based practices with a forward-thinking curriculum, empowering our students to discover their authentic selves, their passions, and their individual strengths. Our integrated curriculum is based on educational research into how the human brain learns, making the learning process more equitable by redefining how we test knowledge.

At Summit Point School, we offer a wide range of subject options, including a unique evidence-based Structured Literacy curriculum and hands-on Maths. Our students require a more considered and thoughtful approach in the classroom to reach their full potential. We provide ample time and repetition, ensuring that content, concepts, and instruction are explicit and deliberate.

Homework at Summit Point School is personalized, focusing on areas that require additional practice. We liken this approach to becoming an elite athlete, where strength and fitness are built through commitment and consistency. Just like athletes, our students practice every day to improve their skills and abilities.

Our small and carefully considered classes ensure that students are placed in environments that suit their social and emotional needs. We do not adhere to normative standards or expectations of where a child "should" be at their age, allowing us to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
