Established in 1992, Southern Cross Wellington Hospital offers a wide range of clinical services, including orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, gynecology, pediatric surgery, neurophysiology, ophthalmology, oncology, and urology. With state-of-the-art facilities, including day procedure facilities, six operating theaters, and a modern intensive care unit, we ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care and comfort during their stay.

Adjacent to our private surgical hospital is our multi-disciplinary specialist center, which features consulting rooms and day procedure facilities for credentialled medical practitioners. TBI Health is also located within the Southern Cross Specialist Centre, providing comprehensive healthcare services.

Exciting developments are currently underway at Southern Cross Wellington Hospital, with a major expansion project that began in 2023. This expansion will enhance and increase the core hospital services, including the addition of a purpose-built orthopedic specialist center, new consulting rooms, extended rehabilitation facilities, and two new surgical theaters. We are dedicated to continuously improving our treatment and surgical capacity to better serve the Wellington region.

Free parking facilities are available, but please be aware that Covid-19 precautions may impact visitor access.

To ensure a seamless admission process, we encourage you to complete the Southern Cross patient Admission Pack provided by your surgeon. This pack includes important forms that help our healthcare teams plan for your care, such as personal details, health history, special needs, and payment information. If necessary, our healthcare team may request additional information or documents during a pre-admission consultation.

For your convenience, we offer online patient forms that can be completed on a desktop computer or tablet. These forms will be directly sent to the hospital, and you can also request a copy for your reference. If you are not a New Zealand resident, please complete the 'Acknowledgement Form: Non NZ Resident.'

Before undergoing treatment at the hospital, it is important to be aware of the risk of blood clots. If you are at a higher risk, please consult with your GP or treating medical specialist to address any concerns.
