Welcome to Snells Beach Kindergarten, a beloved institution located at 15 Hamatana Road in Snells Beach, New Zealand. As an establishment, point of interest, and school, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching learning environment for children.

At Snells Beach Kindergarten, our learning programme is designed to honor and extend children's interests, as well as incorporate topical events. Our qualified and experienced teaching team, who have been together for a number of years, are deeply committed to the local community and actively participate in community activities.

We take pride in being a well-resourced Kindergarten, both indoors and outdoors. Our large playground offers a multitude of adventures and physical challenges that cater to children's abilities and interests. Our children are passionate about outdoor play, fishing in our boat, exploring our large sandpits, and engaging in creative art projects.

Our teachers possess a range of skills and expertise. We are particularly passionate about children's art, te ao Māori (the Māori world), our local coastal environment, and community involvement. Our teachers have completed the Incredible Years training and are involved in the Engage programme, which supports children's emotional competency.

At Snells Beach Kindergarten, we foster a connection to nature through our active gardening practices. Children have the opportunity to care for, grow, and try out a variety of vegetables that we cultivate on our premises.

We also prioritize bicultural connection and provide weekly te reo Māori sessions with a bi-cultural specialist. Tamariki (children) love participating in kapa haka (Māori performing arts) and showcasing their talents to whānau (extended family).

Special occasions are celebrated with great enthusiasm at Snells Beach Kindergarten. Our annual Pyjama Breakfast, Glow in the Dark Party, various sports days, pet days, and visits from entertainers are eagerly anticipated by our children. Additionally, we actively engage in community events such as the Snells Beach Garden Club Annual Flower Show and the Warkworth Santa Parade. We also celebrate Sea Week by organizing a beach clean-up involving children and their whānau.

Learning outside the classroom is an integral part of our educational approach. We regularly organize educational excursions to local attractions and venture further afield to places like Butterfly Creek, Auckland Zoo, the cultural performance at Auckland Museum, and Kelly Tarltons.

We are proud to have a supportive and active Parent Whānau Group that fundraises for resources and organizes social events. Parents are actively involved in consultation and contribute to our programme. Our annual Wheel-a-thon is a highlight for children, while adults enjoy our annual Comedy Night fundraiser.

Our teachers are highly reflective practitioners, constantly seeking ways to improve their practices. The strong sense of connectedness among children, family members, and staff is evident in our kindergarten. The environment is designed to provoke children's curiosity and creativity, with a wide range of natural resources and objects reflecting the cultural backgrounds of our diverse community.

Our kindergarten operates from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, and our office hours are from 8 am to 4:45 pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
