Welcome to Gumboots Early Learning Centre, located at Helensville, Peak Road, 1157 in New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, we strive to provide a high-quality education and care for children in our community.

When visiting our center, we recommend booking a time in advance to ensure that our Centre Manager, Diane, is available to show you around. The busiest times of the day are either side of 9.00 am and 3.00 pm, so we suggest avoiding those times for a more personalized experience.

Currently, we have a waiting list in the older rooms. To secure a place in these rooms, we recommend enrolling younger children for a minimum of two days a week. This way, you are guaranteed a place as your child progresses through our program.

At Gumboots Early Learning Centre, we believe that a quality early childhood education encompasses various elements. These include a high ratio of qualified and passionate staff, good group sizes, a robust teacher guidance program, quality interactions and trust, and teachers who effectively respond to children's individual needs and interests. We also prioritize personal and dedicated attention for all children, low teacher turnover, consistency of care, and a well-planned, well-maintained environment.

Our Junior Boots room accommodates up to 24 children with a ratio of 1:6. Infants in this room are cared for by our dedicated staff members, Brenda and Deirdre, who are affectionately known as the "baby whisperers." They provide loving and respectful care for up to six infants, ensuring that they feel safe and nurtured during their time with us.

As children grow and transition into the Little Boots room, they have access to a beautiful indoor and outdoor area that offers great opportunities for exploration, regardless of the weather. Here, they learn to move their bodies, sing, dance, and share with their friends. These children are truly awesome!

In the Glorious Treasures room, children are inquisitive and constantly questioning the world around them, making connections, and developing their independence and confidence. They explore their artistic talents, develop fine motor skills, and learn about their bodies' capabilities. Watching these children grow and learn is a wonder to behold.

Our Pre-School room focuses on preparing children for school. They become independent, competent at organizing themselves, and love learning new things. They support each other, laugh a lot, and find excitement in exploration. We work closely with parents on their school transition pathway, ensuring that foundational skills are mastered before moving on to more advanced learning.

Our expansive and well-established playground is a source of joy for all our children. We encourage outdoor exploration, taking walks around the property, and visiting the ponies and the pig. During summer, we enjoy sitting under the shade of the plum trees in the orchard, eating plums, and gathering fruit for baking. The property is full of different outdoor "rooms" to explore, with little gardens scattered throughout.
