About the Business
Welcome to Woodmans Hill Secondary College, located in the beautiful city of Ballarat, Australia. Situated at the entrance to Ballarat, our college is surrounded by well-maintained, park-like grounds that provide a serene and conducive learning environment for our students.
At Woodmans Hill, we strive to be your school of choice, and we invite you to visit us and engage with our staff, parents, and current students to help make an informed decision. We believe in building strong relationships within our school community, and that's why, after extensive consultation, we have transitioned into a standalone 7-12 college starting from 2019. This change was driven by the overwhelming desire of our community to create a learning environment where students can start and finish their secondary education, fostering long-lasting connections among staff, students, and parents.
As part of our commitment to providing a convenient and efficient experience for our parents and students, we have implemented an enhanced Resource List service. Resource Lists are now available on our school website, allowing students to place their orders electronically. Simply click on the Campion Education logo on our website to access the book list.
Please note that bookings are essential for any visits to our campus, as part of our COVID-safe requirements. We look forward to meeting you during our school tours and sharing our pride in the achievements of our students and staff.
Woodmans Hill Secondary College is organized into a Junior sub-school for students in years 7-9. In this sub-school, students study a wide range of subjects that cover all areas of the Victorian Curriculum. Our English curriculum focuses on developing students' abilities to listen, read, view, speak, write, create, and reflect on increasingly complex texts across various contexts. Similarly, our Mathematics curriculum aims to enhance students' mathematical understanding, reasoning, problem-solving, and modeling skills. The Science curriculum provides opportunities for students to develop a deep understanding of fundamental scientific concepts and processes.
We also offer a comprehensive Physical Education course that instills lifelong approaches to healthy and creative leisure activities. Our Health program introduces students to various health issues, fostering their understanding of personal well-being. The Arts play a vital role in our curriculum, allowing students to explore and develop their creative and expressive capacities by learning about different artistic practices, disciplines, and traditions.
In line with the Victorian Curriculum, our Technologies subjects encompass Design and Technology as well as Digital Technologies. Through these subjects, students learn how to utilize technologies to create innovative solutions that address real-world challenges. Additionally, we recognize the importance of learning languages, and therefore, we offer French as a language option for all students from years 7-12. All students will study French in years 7 and 8, providing them with a valuable global perspective.
We are proud of the holistic education we offer at Woodmans Hill Secondary College and encourage you to explore our website for more information. Join us on this educational journey and become a part of our vibrant and inclusive school community.

"A CAMPUS OF BALLARAT SECONDARY COLLEGE ON THE EAST SIDE OF TOWN The school begin its life as Ballarat East Secondary School, then later Ballarat East Secondary College and now as a campus of several schools which merged into the single entity - Ballarat Secondary College. In its early days it was an important regional school for kids living in nearby country Victorian towns. Over the years it has grown, sprouted a gymnasium hall, upgraded its infamous "portable" buildings in the 1970s that were virtually falling apart"
