"I went to the shoe store with my friend to buy orthopedic shoes. After we had been in the shop for over 5 minutes, the owner finally came out of his back room and you could tell that he was in a bad mood, probably we had bothered him and he was visibly annoyed and let us feel that too. I asked about flat shoes and he replied very arrogantly that flat shoes weren't good for the feet. He then showed me another pair of shoes with a heel. I told him that I can't walk on that shoe. He was very offended and said things like: "He would be the best shoe store in Wellington and blah blah blah" and went back into his back room and left me and my friend standing alone in the shop. Outrageous, unfriendly, never again!"

"I have been going to this shoe shop for probably around 17 years and would buy on average 3 pairs of shoes each time and on average buy winter shoes twice a year and the same with summer shoes. I had a good working relationship with Jimmy the older man he always gave me a discount which i never asked for. He had a great customer manner. I also brought shoes on my credit card each time he never charged me for it. i spent $469 tonight and his son wanted to charge me 5% extra on my credit card which we sorted out was a communication breakdown. I paid 2.5% there was nothing on the counter to state that this was required. I felt very let down i just felt that my loyalty was not important on average i would spend at least $300 each time i go to the shop. So that is $1200 a year. I dont know if I will go back I like the shoes but the customer service is not like it was."

"I went in to Newtown shoes just to see what they had in stock as I was sick of the same old, same old from the major chains around (and the junk they sell at no.1 Shoe Warehouse and the Warehouse).... How pleasantly surprised I was at the vast and varied array of QUALITY shoes they stock, the two Indian fellas in there couldn't help me enough and I walked out with a pair of slippers (yeah I know Grandad ha ha) and an AWESOME pair of sneakers - great quality shoes and awesome prices! The service was great and I'll definitely be going back! - I almost felt like part of the family by the time I left and I would not hesitate to recommend this purveyor of fine footware to ALL my friends and family!
