Cure time is an important factor to consider when working with Megapoxy. Various factors, such as ambient temperature, product temperature, substrate temperature, and the presence of fillers, can influence the cure time. Details on cure times can be found in the Technical Bulletin specific to your product on our Products page.
Removing cured epoxy from a compatible/prepared substrate can be challenging. Mechanical methods, such as using a concrete grinder with the appropriate wheel cup, or using strong solvents and paint strippers, may be effective. It's important to exercise caution and consider the risks associated with each removal method.
Proper mixing of the two parts of epoxy is crucial for successful curing. Avoid agitating the mixture to prevent the formation of air bubbles. Special epoxy mixing drill attachments can help with this. If bubbles do form, allowing the mixture to sit or tapping the mixing container can help release them. Using a blue flame can also remove bubbles, but be sure to handle the equipment and container with care due to the heat involved.
During the curing process, epoxy can generate heat, known as exotherm. Excessive exotherm can be dangerous and result in inadequate cured results. To reduce exotherm, consider reducing the quantity of epoxy mixed at once, increasing the surface area, using epoxy in cooler temperatures, and incorporating fillers such as epoxy aggregate.
At Megapoxy Sales NZ Ltd, we are committed to providing high-quality epoxy resin construction adhesive and exceptional customer service. Trust Megapoxy for all your adhesive needs.
