About the Business
Welcome to Paul Sadler Swimland Bendigo, located at 12 Vine Street in beautiful Bendigo, Australia. As an establishment, health point of interest, and school, we are dedicated to providing high-quality swimming lessons for all ages and skill levels.
Our manager, David, has been a part of our team since 2010 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role. With a passion for teaching children to swim and a love for working with kids, David is committed to ensuring that every child learns vital life-saving skills while enjoying their time in the water. He believes that swimming is not just about technique, but also about fostering respect, love, and understanding of the water.
At Paul Sadler Swimland Bendigo, we offer a wide range of swimming lessons. From babies as young as 4 months old to adults, we have classes tailored to meet everyone's needs. We also offer private lessons for those who prefer one-on-one instruction.
We understand the importance of water safety, especially in Australia's sunny climate. Regular swimming lessons can significantly improve your child's chances of surviving a water emergency and reduce the risk of drowning. According to America's National Institute of Health, the risk of drowning can be reduced by up to 88% with regular swimming lessons. Our goal is not only to teach water safety skills but also to instill a lifelong love of the water.
Our dedicated team of nationally accredited and qualified swim teachers is committed to providing a safe and structured learning environment. Before they can teach classes, our teachers undergo 200 hours of in-house training, surpassing the basic requirements for swim teachers. We take pride in our motivated, caring, and knowledgeable team.
For the littlest members of your family, we offer infant aquatics classes in a relaxed and nurturing environment. Our baby-led swimming program, based on Harvard research, allows babies to decide when they are ready to attempt submersion. Our teachers use verbal, visual, and kinesthetic cues to engage babies and monitor their body language and reactions.
As children grow older, they transition into independent lessons where they develop their freestyle and technical swimming abilities. We place a strong focus on survival skills, ensuring that children spend time in the deep end of the pool and learn to tread water unaided.
For adults, we offer lessons for beginners through to experts. Our one-on-one assessments help us determine your needs and skill set, ensuring that you are placed in the right class for your individual needs. Private lessons are also available for those who prefer a more personalized approach.
At Paul Sadler Swimland Bendigo, we believe that learning to swim should be safe, creative, and fun. Our lessons are designed to provide a well-rounded swimming education while fostering a love for the water.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of the land where we work and live. We extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
If you're ready to book your free 1:1 assessment or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We look forward to welcoming you to Paul Sadler Swimland Bendigo, where we are committed to teaching water safety and technique with kindness, respect, and experience.

"We love Paul Saddler, everyone is so warm and welcoming, delivering an important life skill in a safe environment. Our twins, Thomas and Lily, absolutely adore their instructer Emily and she's amazing and so patient with them. Highly recommend."
"Very impressed with the quality of the lessons provided here. We have had our children 10, 6 & 4 in swimming lessons at another place in Bendigo and I can say my kids learnt more and were challenged more in two weeks at this place than they were two years at the other. I love that they are constantly working towards putting the kids up a level and the methods they use for teaching strokes and proper breathing. Plus the teachers knew all the kids names so quickly and have the ability to keep the kids focused, comfortable and confident whilst challenging their ability!"
"The only reason I’m giving 1 star is because the instructor Bec is always lovely and helpful. My daughter stopped being afraid of swimming and learned to swim independently in 3 months. However just touching on the issues - we were not given makeup lessons for days we paid for that they decided to close the centre, even after being told we would as we had already paid for it. Reception staff are rude and unhelpful. They call you if your entire monthly advance payment is 1 day ‘overdue’ but will not help you with anything when actually there in person or when calling up. Woman at the front refuses to acknowledge your presence and is always looking down at the computer. If you can manage to get her attention she rudely tells you to ‘use the app’ which doesn’t even work for any of the things we have need it for so you end up in a cycle with her and her dismissive attitude. If my daughter didn’t love her new swimming lessons so much I would take her out because this place is just money hungry, rude and nasty."
"I cannot rate Paul Saddler and their staff highly enough! Our kids started very late to the swimming lesson scene and we’re super scared and nervous about having to try swim with kids 3-4yrs younger. Yet all the staff work so well to nurture each child in the groups, and our two excelled soon enough and are already swimming at the same level as their friends who’ve been in lessons since 6mths of age - and have also gained more confidence in themselves in other areas. So glad a friend recommended joining and would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone!!"
"We both love our instructor Bec, she really connects with each child, talks to and encourages them with each activity. She explains everything clearly at each session and helps us to ensure we get the most out of each class. We love all the activities provided and see improvement in skills each lesson we attend. We can’t recommend Paul Sadler enough."
