Nolita 203 Cuba Street, Te Aro, Wellington 6011
About the Business
Welcome to Nolita, the first plant-based pizza and pastaria in New Zealand, located on the vibrant Cuba Street in Wellington. At Nolita, we pride ourselves on doing things a little differently. With our 48-hour fermented sourdough, homemade cheese, pasta, and bread, we have created a unique dining experience that caters to both vegans and non-vegans alike.
Our vision was to prove that plant-based food can be just as delicious as its non-plant-based counterparts. We are particularly passionate about our sourdough and plant-based mozzarella. Each day, our dough is freshly made using a rye sourdough starter, type 2 flour, and then fermented for a full 48 hours. This process not only enhances the flavor but also improves its digestibility. The result is a hand-stretched, perfectly textured pizza crust that will leave you wanting more.
Our commitment to plant-based ingredients extends to our house-made cashew mozzarella. We delicately ferment it using dairy-free cultures, ensuring a creamy, flavorful cheese alternative that will satisfy even the most discerning cheese lover.
Exciting news - Burger Welly is back! From August 11th to 27th, you can indulge in our delicious burger creations. Bookings are now available through the link above. This year, our burger pays homage to the unification of Italy as a country in 1871. The colors of the Italian flag are represented in our burger, symbolizing the breaking of old Italian stereotypes and embracing the unity of the country as we know it today.
Our burger features a mouthwatering combination of mortadella and smoked cheese potato rosti patty, mozzarella fonduta, pickled zucchini, Kokihi herbed iceberg, beetroot crisps, salsa verde, and smoked tomato ketchup. All this deliciousness is served in a La Linda red and green ciabatta bun, accompanied by tomato salted fries and pickle mayo. Don't miss out on this culinary delight, available for just $25.
Whether you're a plant-based enthusiast or simply looking to try something new, Nolita is the place to be. Come and experience the flavors of our innovative plant-based cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Join us at our address on Wellington's Cuba Street, 203, and discover why Nolita is a must-visit destination for food lovers and those seeking a unique dining experience.

"We had an absolutely fantastically tasty meal at this restaurant! Everything was super tasty and cooked to perfection. Freshness and texture was perfect. We were three people and two were non-vegans, and they both agreed that they did not miss anything from the food they were eating, that is, meat or dairy. Service was great, non-invasive, friendly and efficient. There was a lovely warm buzz as well in the restaurant. We will definitely be dining there more often."
"Came here for brunch starving after a big night on the town and left feeling like I needed a vomitorium. Great food and in bulk. The spinach and ricotta balls are DENSE (and yum!!). We ordered fries for the table because that's what you do at a hungover brunch - my god, the bowl is huge. Every bowl is huge. No matter how big you think your stomach is - think again. Even the caesar salad was a real chestburster!! but again - yum."
"TLDR: Probably one of Wellington's best option for vegans that is really good, but not diverse enough to be perfection. Service: the wait staff were prompt and efficient. While I have no complaints, they were not what I would call welcoming or inviting that makes for the truly 5 star service of "I loved it" according to the rating system. Atmosphere: another set of solid 4s here. It was clean and well decorated, but it was a tad cramped and didn't scream "come back" to us. Food: most importantly is was the food good? Heck yes it was! However, after trying four different dishes, it became a little one note. While the flavors were good, each dish started to taste the same and we tried to order a variety. Additionally, my noodles were a bit over cooked, on the mushier side of cooked, but the sauce was good. We would totally come back because Wellington has few decent vegan options. Nolita does a solid, good job with vegan food. We would just recommend a little more variety and some injection if unexpected flavor to keep us interested."
"Great restaurant if you're after a vegan menu. Terrific selection of entrees, mains and pizzas all meat and dairy free. The cashew mozzarella cheese is really good, as are the pizzas made with sour dough bases. Good selection of drinks in the menu too."
