"horrible. this was the worst camp i have ever been on, and ive been on a camp where a kid was dropped from a rock climbing wall. I just didn't really like how they acted as if encouragement would give you superpowers. Also, in the Colditz Castle activity, as was going inside the tunnel, someone slammed the lid really close to my ears and I couldn't hear for 1 minute, then I heard high pitched ringing for a while after. Lots of people I've talked to have experienced this as well, and I just think it was a horribly thought-out activity. Also, I didn't like some of the info we were given going into activities, for example, on the bridge activity, we got told to wear whatever we wanted because 'It won't get wet'. What a lie. i was soaked (and my favourite converse were ruined). Also, on the final day we got told that our clothes wouldn't get wet or dirty, and then we had to throw flour at each other. I just think that the communication throughout the camp was pretty poor. The mud activity cut my feet, and I'm convinced that it infected my ear. I'm not sure if my school asked for the program to be like this, but we didn't have one second free or alone. As an introvert, I felt socially exhausted by the end of this camp. This camp seems to be tailored for one type of person and one person alone, an extreme extrovert who has endless energy. I do have one piece of advice for people attending this camp though - DO NOT GO. As many other people have mentioned, the use of pushups as a punishment is excessive. You shouldn't make literal children complete physical forms of punishment to pay for the actions of their peers; I'm pretty sure there's a law against that btw. But, the most disappointing thing about this entire camp was the fact that i lost my Duolingo streak. i was coming up on 100 days, but i didn't have enough streak freezes to last the camp. i could have been a translator for swedish and english speaking politicians, but i will never know, this camp crushed my dreams, and destroyed my ambitions."
"Went here for school camp and that's where we will be going for the rest of school. This was my best camp experience ever, the activities were so fun and they never forced you to do anything. We did pushups if someone ruined the teamwork. Wasn't allowed to bring my phone though so I didn't get photos. This was honestly so fun especially because of the mud, I recommend this greatly!!"
"Camp was pretty good. Nathan and Brittney were scary. I died of heatstroke and couldn't do activities. Rations were lit, i lived off noodles for 4 days. Pro tip: DONT SWEAR or else push ups"
"Reflecting on my experience from 2020. I will update this review next week as I am returning for the leadership camp on Monday. 2020 review: Staff weren't too pushy when it came to students not wanting to do activities. They encouraged students to join in on the activities but weren't forced to do them, such as the tunnel activities and the mud. I enjoyed learning about stories behind each of the activities more than the activities themselves. Staff were also kind and encouraged fun at the end of the day. The activities in the hall were fun as well. Food was pretty good considering the number of students being fed. I did go a bit hungry on the second night as I don't really like/can't eat nachos. Dorms were also pretty good. Had a working aircon. 2023 review: Will be added soon"
"Emu Gully was a great place to visit! The activities including several teamwork exercises, Tunnel Rats of Vietnam and the Siege of Tobruk, in addition to multiple water activities. The activities mix Australian history into fun games however, some of the activities are a bit frightening such as the Tunnel Rats of Vietnam, which makes you feel quite claustrophobic. The coolest part of this place is the emu mascot, which I have attached pictures of below."
