"The prices are amazing and the product range is very much attractive. I was moving to my new house so I went to get lots of home decor from them. I had a full trolley and was coming back for another one. For some reason, their payment system didn’t accept my card. I was told to go to Woolies and get cash for payment which in my opinion wasn’t fair for a customer to be asked but I did it as I thought this would help me save time and shop another full trolley before I come back next day again. The blonde lady in her mid 40s with glasses on was the cashier at the shop who started behaving very much in discriminating way and asked me to stay back in queue while she let all other shoppers know that my card didn’t work. But, the only fact was it was working perfectly. I even tried on my business card which didn’t pass through their payment system. I tried asking for alternate payment system but she started getting very rude with me for no reasons. She started blaming me for low balance, maxed out credit for the day without knowing my personal or business profile. These kind of staff behaviour in a situation of grievance shows the importance of grievance handling training in the business. I hope the owners or the management see this and act on it. A better training on handling these situations while keeping the customer privacy and Customers trust is very important. I could have walked out of store without purchasing even a piece out of those 20/25 items after that behaviour but I knew it wouldn’t achieve anything or solve the actual problem. But, definitely I didn’t choose the store for my future buyings that I was doing after dropping them in my car and for next day."

"Make sure you choose products wisely. Bought 2 curtains without measuring what i needed. Was a spur of the moment decision while i was here to buy something else. Thought the bargains were great. Got home. Only needed one curtain for the smaller window i was covering. Next day went back to ask for refund on 2nd curtain i didn't need. Junior manager was arrogant and cocky, obviously trying to be a wannabe big boy, shows me small piece of paper behind the counter on wall saying they will give credit not refund on change of mind items. I understand that. I explained i bought 2nd curtain in good faith as i didn't have measurements and was supporting their store as i came in for something else but liked their bargains. The whole encounter was embarrassing and left a sour taste in my mouth as he couldn't look me in the eye as he spoke to me. Won't be going to CHOICE DISCOUNT VARIETY Stores ever again. One Star only because i couldn't put negative 5 star rating. Terrible customer service and respect."
