"Daughter did not have a good experience at all during her year at SCBC (year 4) and at the start of year 5. Classrooms too large to monitor for bullying and majority of children unfriendly and rude. This goes unnoticed a lot by teachers we’ve had. Did not witness a lot of Christian values and morals which school prides self in. Pulled daughter out this year-and it was the best decision! Currently thriving in a smaller community based primary school. Cannot believe the difference/contrast in my daughters mental well being and academic performance!"
"Teachers do nothing about their children's rudeness, immaturity and just anything to do with respect. They don't try to control the children they have duty of care over. Would definitely not want my children going to that school."
"I used to go to SCBC a few years ago. Primary school, loved it. It was amazing and a great environment. However, in my opinion when the soccer academy was introduced the school went down in quality. South Coast praises its academy kids at the price of everyone's education and enjoyment. Myself left for a few reasons but a big one was the management of the soccer academy. Multiple times throughout high school these academy kids would disrespect the teachers and disrupt the class without any consequences, usually getting a slap on the wrist then continuing with their antics the next day. With this most (not all) academy kids were people that only respected there coach's not their teachers or fellow peers. Because of this behavior other kids would follow in there foot steps. Another thing that really annoyed me and others is the 'level back'. When students completed 2 weeks of good behavior they can get back a level. This lead to many students abusing this and continue misbehaving in the classroom. Students who were on their final straw got multiple chances to improve their behavior as well, which they never did and the school continued to allow it. Lastly, the no tolerance bullying rule is ineffective. When I went there I saw a lot of bullying that wasn't being handled neither did the school approach it well either. All verbal but words can stick with a kid forever, it has for me. Plus if a physical fight did break out if you were to punch back to defend yourself you would be suspended for not running away. Are they telling me if I'm on the floor and can't run I should just sit there and get beaten? Even though I haven't been at SCBC for a few years I still have a friend that goes to there. They find this is still an ongoing issue both for the management of the soccer academy and no tolerance bullying rule. Overall SCBC gave me a great primary school experience but the school has gone down in quality ever since the introduction of the soccer academy. With behavior management and bullying issues still present."
"My third year at South Coast. So blessed that my son was able to be part of the unique and innovative primary school football program. The school has been very supportive of his academic side. The improvements in his maths has been great. My daughter has been at the school since this year. She’s very happy and loves the staff and support they give her. You really feel you are part of a community. The football program is world class."
