At Tec-NQ, we believe in doing things differently. While academic studies are important, we understand the value of relating these subjects to vocational pathways. That's why we combine academic studies with hands-on practical learning, delivered by experienced trade-qualified facilitators. This unique approach allows students who are interested in a career in a trade to gain nationally recognised pre-apprenticeship qualifications and senior school outcomes.

Our senior school students in year 10 have the opportunity to "try all trades" so they can identify their career aspirations. In years 11 and 12, we offer career-specific pathways, providing both academic and vocational outcomes. These pathways are supported by work placement in industry, which is key to the successful transition many of our students make into careers. In fact, students spend up to 13 weeks in work placement in year 11 and up to 23 weeks in year 12, ensuring they gain real-world experience without compromising their academic studies.

By offering the best of both worlds, Tec-NQ students develop practical skills and gain valuable experience, setting them up for success in their chosen trade. Our passion for what we do is evident in the learning and lifelong networks forged by our students.

In exciting news, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Ross Jorgensen as our new CEO. Ross brings a wealth of experience and will lead Tec-NQ into its next phase of growth.

At Tec-NQ, we believe in community involvement and offer all-ages community events to celebrate achievements and foster a sense of belonging. We also offer a range of training options in three locations, ensuring access to education and training for the development of our community.

Whether your passion lies in automotive, engineering, electrical, or plumbing, we have a training program to suit your apprenticeship needs. Our programs cover a wide range of qualifications, including engineering qualifications in boilermaking, fitting and turning, sheet metal fabrication, and diesel fitting. Additionally, our electrical apprenticeships equip students with a broad set of skills applicable to various career paths in the field. We also offer qualifications in water, sanitary/drainage, and gas plumbing.
