"13/07/2023 7 day trip Had an absolute magic time. Not a single complaint. The crew are sensational and catered to your every whim (very knowledgeable of the marine life and dealt with all my questions with a smile). The dive briefs from Sean were great and definitely set everyone up for a successful dive. The boat is kept very clean. The food was amazing. The weather was rough but Tony the captain kept us informed and put us on great spots to keep us protected from the currents and surge. I felt very safe getting into the water from having a personal locator beacon in case you got lost and enough dive guides in the water to keep an eye on inexperienced divers (also showing us all the small critters) great for helping me along with my macro photography The diving is amazing, even months later I keep raving about it. "After much research, we chose the Spirit of Freedom for the SCUBA diving portion of our vacation. We haven't been diving in 8 years, so we were SO hoping this adventure would be extraordinary. It WAS! From the crew to the accommodations, to the dive sites . . . we were totally spoiled with care, safety, and attention. And the FOOD! Chef Murray made sure we would never suffer a hungry second of our trip, and the variety and creativity of the meals and tea time forbade me from not expanding my waistline just a little! No job was beneath any of the crew members if it would make our day better in any way. Captain Glenn was helping with dishes. The highly experienced dive masters gathered laundry. We decided to add to our dive certifications, and the certified instructors were happy to accommodate us with patience and REALLY GOOD humor! They all adhered to the letter of Queensland law to make sure everyone stayed safe and to protect the reef. We booked one of the Ocean View cabins, which took a slightly bigger bite out of our budget, but was worth the expense. Our bed was comfortable, the view was inspiring, and our substantial luggage (we were packed for several different Australian adventures) actually fit in our cabin! We were fortunate to have had about 20 other divers from various parts of the world who brought great conversation, photographic talent, and friendship. Even with this many divers together, we rarely bottlenecked or felt overly crowded when diving. The dive masters made sure to help us explore in a way to avoid underwater traffic jams. We did not see another dive boat anywhere. The reef was seemingly ours. They also made sure we had the best dive locations possible. A few dives were exchanged for others due to rough seas and heavy currents. Their knowledge of the reef insured that each dive was spectacular. Kudos to the individuals who worked endless hours to make sure that our experience on the Great Barrier Reef was epic! Captain Glenn, Sean, Maddie, Matt 1, Matt A, Leo, Brad, Sarah, Michael, Holly, and Chef Murray . . . You made this a trip of a lifetime!"

"We recently went on a 7 day trip (June 29-July 5). It was the trip of a lifetime. In fact, my daughter told me that it was the best trip that she has ever been on! The diving was great. We saw healthy reefs, potato cod, lots of sharks, and had a mind blowing experience snorkeling with Minke whales. The crew made all the dives so easy, especially with putting on and taking our fins off for us. Talk about being spoiled. But what really elevated the trip from great to amazing was the crew. They were all so friendly and could not have worked harder (they are a huge asset to the company!). Sean, the planner of great dives, gave quite thorough briefings and was always ready to help out in any way possible. Maddie did a fantastic job helping my daughter become a more experienced diver (she loved the advanced scuba course she took with her). Leo, one of the nicest people on the planet and winner of the wetsuit style award, played the best music while we got ready and Brad was super helpful and pointed out fish on the surface between dives. We were so lucky with the quality of the food on the trip. The food was amazing. And there was always more than you could eat with pre-breakfast, breakfast, lunch, tea time with snacks, and gourmet plated dinners with excellent desserts. Murray is such a talented chef. I'm surprised he isn't heading up a fancy, expensive restaurant. But we were glad he wasn't! You can't go wrong by booking a trip on the Spirit of Freedom."

"Excellent company to do your liveaboard with! Safety is beyond the normal standards and I love that. All staff aboard were super friendly, professional, and helpful! My partner and I had an amazing experience. Food prepared by Murray was the best! He never let us get hungry. Sean, the director, has the best energy ever and really brought together the group. Chinami, the host, was superb! She was the backbone of the trip. She did a lot and was super hardworking and her commitment to the company did not go unnoticed. Captain Tony was great as well! Maddie was a phenomenal Reef Guide and did a great job explaining Cods. Overall, we had the best time ever and we want to thank you for that! We highly recommend to everything! We will be back! "My rating - 10/10..... 100/100 My partner and I have just enjoyed a wonderful trip to dive along the way and at the famous called Codhole on Ribbon Reef with Spirit of Freedom. The dive trip exceeded expectations. I’m not an experienced diver however my partner is and we both enjoyed the trip for different and the same reasons. We felt very safe, very well informed and so well looked after by a tremendous crew who would be some of the best people that you could meet along the way. Not to mention the hospitality and magnificent meals which was served by Murray, the talented chef on board. Our dive experiences were fantastic, thrilling and simply wonderous. I would re-book this trip again in a heartbeat."
