"Amaazing food! The whole experience from start to finish is great. The waitress is always so friendly and kind. The food can’t get better, except for the brisket, which is better served on the same day it was made, and the prices are fair for the portion size. It's always a great spot to get great food."
"Yesterday must not have been a good day for them because for the most part their reviews are good but I've just read another negative one from yesterday and their complaints mirror my own. Most importantly.....staff were rude. The main lady was grumpy and not nice to her younger staff. One young lass was nearly on the verge of tears after dropping something. Then when we asked for some plates she looked at us with a confused expression and said "Plates?" I truly think that she was so overwhelmed, not daft or clueless, but scared of stuffing up. Yes, bosses need to be firm sometimes to get their workers fired up, but you can't be rude to them in front of customers that are standing right there ordering. 2. When taking orders, please listen. I clearly asked for wings and chips to come out first (as an entree) because we were all sharing and then the 'boxes' to come afterwards. We ended up getting one serve of wings, loaded fries and the shared box first and then ten minutes later the other wings and my fish. Completely wrong and not how WE wanted it. 3. There was no tartare for my fish so I go to the counter. The girl at the counter turns around to boss lady who is behind the pass, who snaps that they don't have any tartare, just aioli. You'd think the lass would then say "I'm sorry but we have run out of tartare, would you like some aioli instead?" But no, she just turns and looks at me because of course, I heard what was said. My point is, I HAD TO ASK, It wasn't offered AND I should have been told when ordering that there was none because it was boss lady herself who took my order. The fish was another issue altogether. I know it's a token menu item because let's face it, we are at a Texas BBQ place. I struggle with meat at the best of times (not for want of trying though) and it wasn't about me, it was hubby's request to go here BUT what I was served was awful. A frozen piece of 'so-called' Barramundi. I reckon it was from the Birds Eye or I&J box and is kept as a back up because it was the same pasty texture and the same non crispy blondish batter. I know the difference between frozen and fresh (plus the size of the very uniform shaped fillet of course). It was awful, it was a rip off and thank goodness I at least had some aioli. Now for the positives.....Husband said it was really lovely brisket and thought the jalapeno sausage was an absolute ripper. The wings were good but the chips although tasty were cold even when they first came to the table. Food can always be a bit hit and miss for different reasons like different cooks, busy nights etc but customer service is paramount and these guys need to step it up to just basic level. I've had better service from takeaway places. The ironic thing is, at the counter there is a note asking customers not to be rude to them as they aren't robots. They should remember not to be rude as well. It's a two way street and most people will forgive small mistakes if they get welcoming service."
"Late Sunday arvo early dinner. Had the Hot Box, word of warning, the the Jalapeños wrapped in bacon last! I ate the whole thing first up and couldn’t taste anything for a few minutes until my eyes had stop watering and my nose running. My wife was quickly warned of my rookie mistake and had dainty bites through the course of making our way through the culinary delights and had no issues or tissues required. The food quantity was ample and good value for two people at $55. Our 18 year old son was the beneficiary of the doggy box we took home and enjoyed aswell."
"I had been wanting to try this place for a year and had high expectations. My partner was lucky enough to be treated to Billys BBQ for their end of year work lunch. We ordered the Carnivore platter eith Mac n Cheese and kids fish n chips. Chicken was delicious. So juicy and tender. Ribs were falling off the bone. Chips were fresh and crispy and nicely seasoned. Coleslaw was average. Sauces were yummy. Sausages were nice Let downs were the brisket. Was tough and chewy. Pork was not pulled pork and same as brisket a little tough. Didn't receive any of the breads mentioned in the menu. Mac n Cheese was meh. Little dry. To make it worse, our food was used for a photo shoot right next to us before being served to us. That was definitely a first for me. All in all rather disappointed as my partner had taken it up so much but just didn't match what he had described."
