Reef Lodge Backpackers hostel and lockers Townsville 4 Wickham Street, Townsville City, Queensland 4810

"The hostel is beautiful and a quick 10-15 minute walk from the ferry terminal, grocery stores, bars etc. The terrace is a beautiful place to eat dinner with friends. I had the twin room which had A/C included, although the high powered fan on the ceiling was enough to keep us cool in the 30 degree weather. The only issue with the hostel was with the staff. As we were packing our belongings approximately 15 minutes to our check out time, a member of staff opened our room door without knocking. Luckily no one was undressed and we were about to leave the room anyway, but this is a complete violation of privacy and caught my friend and I completely off guard. A simple knock would have sufficed and we could have told you we were almost done. Sad way to end off an otherwise amazing hostel experience."

"Great hostel! Had a 1 night visit in a private room. Room had AC, a fan, own little fridge and TV. Good location, 500m from bus and ferry. A bit nasty toilets and bad smell in rooms."

"Great host he was very accommodating and chilled guy with a great hostel it was a chilled enviorment with alot of facility's everything you can think of and only a short walk to the magnetic island ferry, one of the best things attractions in townsville is this hostel 10/10"

"While traveling towards Cairns I had a great stay at Reef Lodge in Townsville! The staff were all kinda and inviting. Victor, who helps guests throughout the hostel was a great time and was very accommodating. I love hiking and this hostel is close to the Castle Hill Lookout which is a great sunset hike. The rooms and kitchen area are always clean — they run a tight ship and the guest follow their lead and pick up after themselves. There’s a laid back atmosphere which is a good change of pace but guest can drink and relax without fear or getting your alcohol confiscated."

"I wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews but for me it was a great stay. Stayed 3 nights. Yes the owner is not a smiley person but still very polite checking was good. If you booked online you get few emails about the 20 dollars in cash so I think there are no excuses for not knowing. Hostel was insanely clean which was great. It's not a party hostel which was fine by me. Maybe the only things was the WiFi a bit slow and you don't get it in the room. But would definitely stay there again. About 10min walk to the ferry and plenty of free carpark 5 min walk form histel."
