Welcome to Mareeba Community Centre, located at 39 Byrnes Street in Mareeba, Australia. As a community-embedded, non-profit organization, Mareeba Community Centre Inc. is dedicated to providing support services across the Tablelands, with a focus on the Mareeba Shire Council area. Our office is situated on the traditional lands of the Muluridji people, and we are committed to respecting and honoring their heritage.

At Mareeba Community Centre, we offer a range of government-funded and self-funded programs aimed at providing general community support, food and financial assistance, and family support services. Whether you need referral assistance, general information, or are interested in joining self-help groups, we are here to help. Our Emergency Relief program provides immediate assistance during financial crises, while our Community Pantry ensures that individuals and families have access to nutritious food. We also offer the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS), which allows community members living on a low income to access interest-free loans up to $2000.

Our motto, "small pieces, big picture," reflects our commitment to working collaboratively with a larger community service network. We believe in taking a holistic viewpoint, considering the various "pieces" of a "puzzle," and celebrating the significance of small steps towards recovery. We strive to enhance personal, family, and community life in a culturally appropriate manner.

Additionally, Mareeba Community Centre runs specialized programs to meet the specific needs of different groups. Our Intensive Family Support program works intensively with families facing multiple and/or complex needs that impact their parenting, family functioning, and children's safety. The Secondary Family Support program aims to reduce harm or risk of harm to children and young people by preventing crises or problems within families from arising or escalating. We also have the Youth Connections program, which focuses on early intervention for young people aged 12-25 who are at risk of entering the criminal justice system. Our dedicated Youth Workers provide practical and emotional support through case management, addressing education and vocational needs, independent life skills, reducing the risk of offending behavior, improving peer associations, strengthening family relationships, and overcoming drug and alcohol barriers.

For families facing tough times, our Family and Child Connect service is available to provide the right support to get back on track. We believe that stable and healthy environments are crucial for children's development, and our team is here to offer a helping hand when you feel lost or side-tracked.

In addition to our support programs, Mareeba Community Centre offers a variety of services, including information, advice, and referral services, self-help and social groups, computer and internet access, photocopying services, and access to visiting services.
