Reviews
"My friend was told she was too big, see review under Romeo & Juliet's bridal"
"I bought a beautiful dress for my wedding and spent a fair amount on it. I found while the sale was being made the service was great, they couldn't do enough for you but once the money was in their pocket they didn't really have time for you. The fitting and alterations process was awkward and uncomfortable. I found the service rude and abrupt. I returned to have the dress dry cleaned which cost a lot more than I had expected and 8 weeks later hadn't heard back from them. When I made a call to see how it was going, it seemed that my dress had been sitting there for a while and noone had bothered to call me to pick it up. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go back there. There are plenty of other stores in town with just as beautiful gowns."
"This buisness also operates under Romeo and Juliets, so don't be fooled. If I could give 0 stars I would. Receipts done in pencil, read between the lines. TLDR - Go somewhere else to not be ripped off. Came In and viewed wedding dresses with bridesmaids, found the one I wanted and bought it outright. With multiple people as witness, the lady serving us stated that the trailering price would be included in the purchase. This was the very reason I came back for the resizing because I was informed I had already paid for it. I reconfirmed that the trailering was included in the price to which she confirmed again. I didn't need to come in for a few months for resizing as she was insisting I get the trailering done a few weeks out from the wedding. I also had to order in a Vail to be sent in to the store as they didn't have the one I needed in the colour at the time, she reassured she would have it ready by the time the resizing was completed. Visited a total of 3 times for measurements, not once was payment for tailoring was mentioned. On the final dress pick up she tried stating I brought home the Vail in the past when I asked about it but later confirmed she had it sitting elsewhere, then turns around and says I owe upwards of $600, when I asked that didn't she state it was included in the dress purchase she stated 'i never do such things'. When I had to drop my dress off she also asked for the recipt to be in the bag, when I picked up the dress the recipient was not in it, I could not prove anything. This was a week out from my wedding so if I fought her on this claim, she would have simply kept my dress and I would have had nothing to wear and she knew it, that was the conversation during the fitting that I was lucjong to get my dress fitted so close to my wedding date. The tactic used was holding my dress for ransom unless I paid. Not cool. If you read this far I hope I helped you make a decision on where to get your dress. Others I have spoken to have also had a horror story under this establishment."
"Staff were really helpful and nice! They are very accommodating to different body shapes and sizes. My original dress was held up in customs multiple times and the staff were extremely helpful with finding a back-up dress (just in case), and tried their hardest to get my original dress in on time, before my formal. I was extremely pleased with my back-up dress and actually liked it more than my original dress."
"I had a good experience at two bridal stores in Townsville but couldn’t find what I was looking for. I went into another store in Townsville, was all but fat shamed in store (I’m a size 10), and led to believe if I didn’t buy the dress that day I wouldn’t get a dress in time for my wedding. She also put me in size 14 dresses, told me that’s the size she would order for me which would have cost a fortune in alterations. I came home to my fiancé in tears. Devastated and feeling terrible about myself. My partner got the brand of dress I loved and called every dress shop to see if they carried the designer, which led us to Romeo and Juliets. As soon as I walked in and met the manager I felt like I was in excellent hands. She made me feel amazing and even picked some dresses I wouldn’t have for myself, and I said yes to the dress! I even got a little emotional at what a completely different experience I had compared to Townsville that I gave her a huge teary hug. I have recommended a few other girls from work (who also had terrible experiences at the same Townsville store) to make the 4 hour journey. It was 100% worth it"
