Welcome to Cairns Community Kindergarten, a renowned institution in Early Education located in Manunda, Gatton Street. Established in 1972 by a group of dedicated parents, we have built a strong reputation for excellence in nurturing and inspiring young minds. At our Kindergarten, we believe in creating a learning environment that encourages children to take risks, be curious, and develop a love for learning.

As a community-based Kindergarten, parents are at the heart of everything we do. They are the decision-makers, ensuring that our institution remains focused on providing the best education for our children. We invite you to become a part of our Kindergarten Community and start something special.

Whether your child is 0 or 5 years old, you can complete our Waiting List Form at no cost. We believe in inclusivity and accessibility, and our aim is to provide quality education to all children. To assist you in the enrollment process, you can download our Fee Schedule and Term Dates, Waiting List Form, Membership Application Form, and the Enrolment Fee Form.

Our Term Dates for 2023 are as follows: First Term: 23rd January to 31st March (10 weeks) and Fourth Term: 3rd October to 8th December (10 weeks). We also offer the Kindy Plus program for those who identify as ATSI or hold a valid Health Care/Concession/Dept of Veteran Affairs card. Proof of eligibility will be required.

Our center offers a play-based educational program for children who turn 4 years old by 30th June in the year they attend. We have two Kindergarten groups, both ensuring that children receive 600 hours of education across the school year as prescribed under Universal Access. We believe in empowering parents and welcome their involvement in our Kindergarten Community.

Cairns Community Kindergarten is a not-for-profit organization operated by an elected parent committee. We are proud to be affiliated with the Department of Education and the Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority. Our curriculum, "Listening and Learning Together," is designed to recognize the value and richness of play as a catalyst for children's learning and ongoing engagement in meaningful experiences. It aligns with the expectations of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG).
