"Great markets up in Karunda. We got here / left via Skyrail Gondala. Lots of up and down in heights of stalls and shops, so a certain level of fitness is required to access all of the stalls. Lots of places to eat."
"Kuranda Heritage Market is a true gem, offering a one-of-a-kind shopping experience that I absolutely loved. This vibrant market is filled with unique and diverse stalls, showcasing local arts, crafts, and produce. From the moment I stepped foot in the market, I was captivated by its lively atmosphere and the array of intriguing products on display. The market's emphasis on supporting local artisans and businesses adds to its charm and authenticity. The stalls at Kuranda Heritage Market offer a wide range of handmade goods, including artwork, jewelry, clothing, and souvenirs. It's a treasure trove for those seeking unique and meaningful gifts or wanting to immerse themselves in the local culture. Although my time at the market was limited, I was able to explore some of the stalls and interact with the friendly vendors. Their passion for their craft and willingness to share stories and insights added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit. It's worth noting that the market is expansive, and fully exploring every nook and cranny would require ample time. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I was unable to experience everything it had to offer. However, even with the limited time, I still found the market to be a captivating and memorable experience. Additionally, the market's location in the picturesque village of Kuranda, surrounded by lush rainforest, adds to its allure. The natural beauty of the surroundings enhances the overall ambiance and creates a truly enchanting setting for shopping and exploring. In summary, Kuranda Heritage Market is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a unique and memorable shopping experience. With its wide variety of stalls showcasing local arts, crafts, and produce, the market offers a delightful blend of creativity and authenticity. While it's advisable to allocate ample time to fully explore the market, even a brief visit will leave you with a sense of wonder and appreciation for this vibrant and special place."
"Small covered market. Various stalls of mostly touristy stuff. Cafe and toilets. Only open Wednesday to Sunday. We bought some books but the older lady who served us acted like we did not exist! The aeroplane out the back (Geronimo) worth a look."
"We had lunch at the pub upon arrival so we were charged up for a good walk around. Best to visit from Wednesday on to make sure everything is open. Lots of things to browse through, so make a point of allowing yourself 4 hrs. to do so in a relaxed way. Do make a point to pop in at St Saviour's Anglican Church Kuranda for a quiet moment of reflection in this tranquil place located amongst all the touristy humdrum & whilst there feast your eyes on the wonderful leadlight windows when the light hits them & the effect it gives to the darkened church. Do visit Birdworld (about 1hr) & the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary (about 30-60 min)."
"Once we got off the skyline gondola we enjoyed spending a couple of hours window shopping. We had limited luggage space and we were on the last days of our cruise, so we had already spent all of our money stashed for gifts, but the gifts were beautiful! I wish we had known about this before coming here. I enjoyed the Empanadas and gelatos as well!"
