About the Business
Welcome to the Townsville & James Cook University Rowing Club Inc., a friendly community rowing club nestled on the scenic banks of the Ross River, just a stone's throw away from James Cook University. Our club is not only a hub for rowing enthusiasts but also serves as the training ground for James Cook University Rowing, The Cathedral School Rowing, Ignatius Park College Rowing, and St Patrick's College Rowing teams.
In addition to our school-affiliated members, we are proud to have a large community of individuals who row for leisure and recreation, as well as a dedicated group of competitive members who train rigorously for the North Queensland Regatta season. Rowing is a sport that captivates people of all ages, ranging from 12-year-olds to seasoned rowers in their 100s!
At our club, we embrace the diverse goals and aspirations of our members. Some are driven by the desire to push their limits, train hard, and strive for podium finishes, while others find solace in the combination of relaxation, gentle exercise, and the opportunity to forge new social connections through rowing.
Aside from the physical benefits of rowing, such as building strong bodies and developing fine motor skills, there is an undeniable sense of camaraderie that permeates our club. Whether you prefer the solitude and precision of a single scull or the exhilaration of an eight-person boat, you will find a welcoming community of like-minded individuals who share your passion for this wonderful sport.
Located at Douglas, Riverside Boulevard, 55, our club offers a stunning riverside setting that sets the stage for unforgettable rowing experiences. Whether you are an experienced rower or a novice looking to embark on a new adventure, the Townsville & James Cook University Rowing Club Inc. is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the world of rowing.
Join us today and discover the joy of rowing, the thrill of competition, and the bonds forged through shared experiences on the water.

"Great facility. Parking ok for smaller groups."
"The Community Centre is fabulous and is a perfect river side venue for any type of function. The off street parking is very convenient and most of the time it is well lit. I use this space to run Tai Chi for Health classes for the last 6 years. Love it."
