"Tropic Living is a beautiful store that matches the NQ lifestyle. We have bought many wonderful this for our place and keep going back."
"I have spent thousands in this store over the last 4 years. My stunning very large rattan wall clock, purchased from here for a few hundred dollars, 3 years ago no longer functions. Well the owner was an absolute dragon! There was zero empathy, understanding, any attempt to even understand my point of view. Went straight to, it only has a 12 month warranty which has expired. If you have a problem go to the office of fair tranding and grab your clock and get out of my shop! She told me she had text me yesterday. For a start, I find that inappropriate. If you care about your customers, you would make a phone call. Anyway, I said that I received no text and asked what number she sent it to. She grabbed her phone and started to look through it. Clearly could not find any evidence of having text me. Then just started aggressively saying that she did not wish to argue about having text me. Then said how can you walk in here without an invoice or a receipt and expect me to do anything. I explained that I never got in the habit of keeping them because it's all on their system but that apparently they've changed systems and so have lost all that info. She said no they haven't changed systems. And I said that her staff member told me the other day that they had. Then she admits that yes they have but that's not the point. She tells me it's the tropics and clocks corrode. Well I have had kmart ones last longer. But honestly it was the delivery of the information, the argumentative tone and exchange and the total lack of care, interest or empathy. She could have explained in a calm manner, said she understands and she apologises. She would be disappointed too if it were her clock. That there is a man in town that can fix it and as a gesture of good will to thank me for my support over the past 4 years, she will split the $65 costs with me or give me a credit note in store for $30. Honestly, except for the lovely young man, the staff in there are generally unpleasant and narky. I now understand why, it must be a very unhappy work place in which to work. Shame, it's the nicest furniture shop in Townsville. Overpriced, the items look pretty but quality is usually pretty average. But it was the best we had locally and I like to support local. As much as it breaks my heart because it's not good for Townsville, online shopping for furniture from now on is what I will be doing. Such a shame and lady I think you need to go and seek some anger management or have a good long holiday. I think this reply must have been written by someone other than you, as you almost sound rational and normal. Still dismissive and with no interest in addressing the actual facts but at least less aggressive and less of a bully."
"Very nice furniture and homewares, very friendly helpful staff, if you need to make your house "smic" definitely visit."
"Such a beautiful shop. You could spend soo much in one go!"
"Quality meets quirky... I love browsing this store, even if a lot of the range is well out of my price range."
