"This is a belated review but in Aug 2021 I had an alternater problem, and in an emergency and dealing with a not very helpful car insurance... who gave me 3 closest car mechanics to where my vehicle was...I calmed down and decided over night to call a bunch of different mechanics. All actual shops... all charged $200 plus, except for the 2 mobile mechanics. Garry was the available mobile mechanic, and he came to literally save my day...and provided lots of peace of mind after. He went step by step of the problem in my car, and thankfully by accident found another tiny problem which he fixed as well. Despite the other couple of bad reviews on here....he was very professional, helpful and he wasn't too far, and I felt a very reasonable fee. Highly recommended his services."

"Gary sold my 21 year old daughter a van yesterday with a roadworthy certificate by East Coast Mobile Safety Certificates - at the same address as Hope Automotive. Today the van is broken down in the driveway. The RACQ condemned the vehicle as "far from roadworthy". Even basic things like the battery - which had to be replaced is unsecured. I phoned Gary and asked to return the vehicle. He became aggressive and hung up on me. My daughter then tried to reason with him and he became aggressive with her and hung up on her too. My experience with Gary can only be described as nasty. My daughter spent all her savings and is now in tears. Buyer - beware! An independent mechanic has also condemned the vehicle. It was sold to an excited, naive 21 year old girl who invested every cent she had. she is now devastated. Shame on you Gary and to your buddy who wrote out the roadworthy. On calling Gary to discuss this deceit Gary became extremely angry and aggressive towards me. He hid his true colours in his dealing with my daughter but sure showed me how nasty a person can be. - come on Gary! show you can be a decent person - refund her money and take your van back."

"If I could give negative stars I would. My experience found Gary to over promise and under deliver which meant we were stuck without a vehicle once the agreed upon time frame had lapsed.. In addition to false promises Gary also refused to honour warranty on his work however pursuing any further would be far too costly and tedious. I would avoid this business at all costs. Edit: Hi Gary, very professional response. With regards to driving the vehicle, As you know I followed your advice in driving the vehicle and monitoring the water levels and heat gauge and the vehicle still failed after your failure to bleed the cooling system properly and returning the vehicle to me. The office of fair trading actually suggested we take the case to QCAT to pursue the matter. Luckily for you we opted against doing so as we did not want to go through all the rigmarole of a civil tribunal case."
