"Such an amazing experience going here. Patient and knowledgeable, providing advice on many aspects of knitting and crocheting as I challenge myself to re-enter the craft. I will definitely be going back again!"
"I'm a brand new knitter and intermediate crocheter - came in on the re-opening day and found this divine yarn and even better, made friends with some ladies who helped me match yarn to a pattern and gave me advice on knitting. Not to mention the owner is friendly, helpful and passionate about knitting, crocheting and all the fibre arts. It's not only a store, it's a community, and you can feel it as soon as you walk in."
"What an excellent yarn shop! Very well stocked with high quality yarns, a good selection of needles and accessories as well as patterns sold individually and in books. The service is exemplary, very friendly and helpful. NOTE: YGY not only stayed open during the pandemic, it thrived, a sure sign of loyal customers."
"I just got home from my first visit to YGY. What a wonderful and inspiring place! I felt so welcomed by Kim in this little nook of a shop, tucked away in the Taringa strip of shops. Kim helped me pick out the perfect yarn for a project, (I'm new to crocheting so I need a lot of guidance). She was so kind, encouraging, and knowledgeable. I walked away already looking forward to visiting the store again. Additionally, it's extremely convenient if you're a public transit user, like me, because it's a few minutes' walk from the Taringa train station."
"Wonderful yarn store in the suburbs of Brisbane. If you are visiting it’s a short drive or Uber to the store. It’s also 100m from a train station so not hard to get to. Towards the back of a small arcade look for the sign out the front (pictured). I loved the selection available here. Plenty of different yarns, weights and choices. There were plenty of notions as well as patterns, books and magazines. Most remarkable was how friendly the store is. I was welcomed straight away and I loved how while I shopped there was at least 2 people who just popped in to say hi to the owner. Great to see an engage knitter and we had a nice chat about our various favourite designers and knitting destinations. Loved the store and will be back when I am visiting Brisbane again."
