Welcome to Deanne Scott Piano Studio, located in Drewvale, Australia. We offer piano, music craft, and theory lessons to students of all ages.

Deanne Scott, the founder and instructor, is a highly qualified and experienced musician. With qualifications including ACBE, ATMusA, CTMusA, and QMTA (Prof), Deanne has dedicated her life to music. From a young age, she studied ballet and piano, and later pursued acting in musical comedy and drama. Since 1990, Deanne has been sharing her passion for music as a teacher, and her studio is bustling with students ranging from 4-year-olds to adults.

Deanne's teaching philosophy is heavily influenced by the renowned Hungarian composer and educator, Zoltan Kodály. She firmly believes that every child should be exposed to music from an early age, as learning an instrument has numerous cognitive, physical, and emotional benefits. Her goal is to bring out the personal best in each student and guide them towards their musical aspirations through individual and group lessons. Deanne also encourages her students to attend regular workshops and concerts to enhance their musical growth.

In addition to her extensive teaching experience, Deanne has spent the last twelve years exploring and studying the Taubman Approach, a technique that promotes freedom and technical ease when playing the piano. She is committed to continuous professional development and regularly attends symposiums and masterclasses. Deanne currently studies the Taubman Approach with mentors Brenda Hunting and Therese Milanovic in Australia, as well as John Bloomfield in New York City, USA.

At Deanne Scott Piano Studio, we offer comprehensive tuition for piano, theory, and musicianship, catering to students at all skill levels. We prepare students for examinations by the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) and the Australian and New Zealand Cultural Arts (ANZCA). Exams can be conducted at our home studio or at the AMEB Building, and we also help students prepare for school scholarships, eisteddfods, and performances.

Our lesson times range from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the student's level, and our terms typically run for 10 weeks. In our studio, you will find two pianos in the first studio, as well as another upright piano in our practice studio. We are also equipped for Zoom lessons, ensuring that students can continue their musical education seamlessly in any situation.
