Welcome to Dr Krystal Bowers Clinical Psychologist, located at 79 The Parade in Ocean Grove, Australia. As an experienced clinical psychologist with over 10 years of practice, I specialize in treating adults with various conditions such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, social phobia, panic attacks, grief, adjustment disorder, and interpersonal issues.

At my institution, I have a particular interest in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety issues, trauma, and perinatal and postnatal depression. I am dedicated to providing personalized care to each of my clients, taking a person-centered approach and utilizing a range of evidence-based therapies. These therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, neuropsychotherapy approaches, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, interpersonal therapy, and positive psychology.

My approach is empathic, supportive, and down to earth. I believe in celebrating the uniqueness of each client and their personality, and I apply therapeutic techniques with creativity, flexibility, and even a touch of humor. I strive to create a safe therapeutic environment where clients can open up and make the most out of their therapy experience, ultimately improving their quality of life.

Outside of my work, I cherish spending time with my husband, three children, and our two dogs, "Roast" and "Eddie." I enjoy watching my children participate in sports and reminiscing about the days when I used to play myself.

Referrals to my practice are typically made through your GP, although self-referrals are also accepted. If your GP assesses you as eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare rebates apply. Alternatively, private health care rebates may be available, so it's worth checking with your health care fund.

Appointments at my institution are priced at $250*. However, with a Mental Health Care Plan in place, a Medicare rebate of $131.65 is available for a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year^. This means your out-of-pocket cost per appointment would be $120.35. If you are attending outside of the Medicare system, private health care fund rebates may apply, and again, it's advisable to check with your fund.

Please note that the Australian Psychological Society recommends a fee of $280 for a 50-minute consultation*. Additionally, in 2022, the maximum number of sessions covered by a Mental Health Care Plan has increased to 20^.
