In 1996, we had the privilege of hosting the Australian Geographic scientific expedition to Southwest Tasmania. A group of scientists, photographers, and journalists stayed at our camp for a week, conducting various studies and capturing the wonders of the region. It was an incredible experience that showcases the unique opportunities our services provide.
Peter Marmion and Greg Wells, our experienced guides, have been guiding visitors in the Southwest for decades. Their passion for this remote wilderness is evident as they share captivating stories and create memorable experiences. As the warmer months approach, it is the perfect time to visit this World Heritage wilderness, and our guides would love to show it to you.
If you have an interest in art, we recommend visiting the Long Gallery at Salamanca Arts Centre to see Jennifer Riddles' exhibition of her Southwest paintings. It is a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the region through art.
During our Wineglass and Wildlife Tour, you will have the chance to meet the locals on Maria Island, adding a unique touch to your experience.
Don't let the winter season deter you from exploring Tasmania. Our flights and conditions at Port Davey are perfect even on chilly days, and we provide heated jackets to keep you warm. The upcoming days offer ideal conditions for your adventure.
The coastal shots of Southwest Tasmania speak for themselves. The stunning coastline is truly a sight to behold.
To celebrate the Winter Solstice, we recently conducted a flight over Spectra with guests onboard. Due to its success, we are considering making it a regular event in the future.

"Absolute must when visiting Tassie!! The guide, who is also the pilot, was incredibly knowledgeable and he effortlessly ensured fun and safety. The terrain we got to see is beyond description, just magical. Magical!"
"Our trip rated as one of the most magnificent tourism experiences of our lives. Perhaps we were lucky with the weather but the day was perfect with no wind and no cloud. Amazing sights of coastline on flight to Melaleuca, beautiful views and reflections during our cruise on Bathurst Harbour and Port Davey, and great flights over the Harbour and mountains on our return flight. Morning tea in a peaceful place, yummy lunch on a beach with beautiful tannin stained waters and harbour and mountain views as the background, and good Tasmanian wines to savour. Interesting stories from our guide Greg who has a profound knowledge of the area. We could not have asked for more! We have lived in Tasmania our whole lives and are so glad to have had the opportunity to see a special part of our island state. Such a great part of our Island Wilderness area and so peaceful with only the noises of nature around."
"Flying into Melaleuca to walk the South Cost Track we added a boat trip around Bathurst Harbour. Par Avion contacted us a week or so before to suggest a refined plan that worked even better for us and allowed other bookings to fit in better. Great flight over with experienced commentary and the a fantastic trip around Bathurst Harbour with Greg and his wealth of knowledge and total customer focus. A wonderful and quite special location served by a great organisation. We will be back. The walk out on SCT is epic, brutal and only for well prepared, experienced full pack hikers."
"Just a small taste of being blessed with the conditions for our day trip with Par Avion. The flight and boat trip to explore Bathurst Harbour, Melaleuca and out to Port Davey was incredibly good. Our guide Greg was exceptional with his knowledge and so giving of himself for the experience of the group. So professional and welcoming l would recommend any trip with this company. You will be blown away and remember this as a once in a lifetime journey for connecting with a slice of Tassie Wilderness. Thank you with appreciation, l hope to one day get there to camp in this pristine environment. Regards Jo"
