About the Business
Welcome to ACSO Shellharbour, located at Shellharbour City Centre on Memorial Drive. As an establishment focused on health and well-being, we strive to create a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, and where prison truly is the last resort.
In late 2023, Australians will have the opportunity to vote in a referendum to establish if First Nations people have the right to speak. This is an important step towards achieving equality and justice for all.
Recognizing the urgent need for targeted interventions addressing domestic and family violence (DFV) offenses among adolescents, ACSO is dedicated to providing the necessary support and resources to address this issue. We believe that by addressing DFV at a young age, we can create a safer and more inclusive community for all.
ACSO is proud to unveil its comprehensive Access and Inclusion Plan (2023-2026), which marks a significant milestone in our mission to become a leader in promoting accessibility and inclusivity. We are committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background or abilities, has equal access to our services.
As a leading institution in the criminal justice field, we believe in the power of knowledge and collaboration. That is why we regularly convene with other criminal justice voices in Melbourne to share ideas and discuss solutions. By working together, we can create a more effective and just system.
One of the ways ACSO is making a difference is through mentoring programs that aim to divert teens from harmful behaviors. By providing guidance and support, we help young individuals make positive choices and build a brighter future.
Since 2020, ACSO has been strategically positioning ourselves as changemakers through research, client work, and partnerships. We are committed to finding innovative solutions to the challenges facing our community and creating lasting change.
Our CEO, Stan McCormack, understands the importance of post-release support for individuals leaving prison. Inspired by a conversation with an assistant prison chaplain in 1982, Stan set out to create a halfway house to provide much-needed support for those reentering society. This commitment to helping individuals transition successfully is at the core of ACSO's mission.
We invite you to explore our website and learn more about the programs and services we offer at ACSO Shellharbour. Together, we can create a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.
