Welcome to Crete Street Theatre, located in the heart of Beenleigh, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we have been entertaining South East Queensland since 1978, making us an integral part of the local community for almost 50 years.

Our journey began with the remarkable performance of ‘Oklahoma!’ at the Beenleigh Memorial Hall, and since then, we have continued to strive for artistic excellence across various genres. From musicals and plays to one-acts, cabarets, and youth programs, we are dedicated to creating exceptional theatrical experiences.

Since 1993, we have proudly called Crete Street Theatre our home. This state-of-the-art venue has allowed us to raise the bar of what theatre should be in South East Queensland. With each production, we aim to push boundaries and captivate audiences with our passion, creativity, and dedication.

Behind the scenes, our hardworking team of volunteers ensures that Beenleigh Theatre Group remains a fun, rewarding, and safe space for all. We are a not-for-profit organization, relying on the support and dedication of our community to thrive as a community theatre group.

As we continue to grow, we would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the land and the traditional families of the Yugambeh region of South East Queensland. We honor their Elders, past, present, and emerging, as the traditional Custodians of the land on which we rehearse and perform. The Yugambeh region encompasses families that identify as Kombumerri, Mununjali, Wangerriburra, and others, and we are grateful for their ongoing connection to the land.
