About the Business
Welcome to Coledale Camping Reserve, a unique and picturesque campground located in the beautiful beachside village of Coledale, Australia. Situated on Lawrence Hargrave Drive, just over an hour south of Sydney CBD, our campground offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Nestled between the rolling blue surf of the Pacific Ocean and the lush greenery of the Illawarra escarpment, Coledale beach is a stunning destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Our grassy campsite borders directly onto the golden sand, providing easy access to the pristine shoreline.
Coledale Beach is a hidden gem, offering a less crowded and more relaxed atmosphere compared to other popular surf spots. With the right conditions, you can enjoy fantastic right and left hand breaks, making it a paradise for surfers. The beach is also a great spot for swimming, fishing, diving, or simply relaxing and soaking up the sun.
One of the highlights of Coledale Beach is the regular visits by playful dolphins and the incredible opportunity to witness migrating humpback and southern right whales up close. These breathtaking sights add to the unforgettable experience of staying at our campground.
The village of Coledale itself has a range of shops and eateries, including Coledale RSL and Scarborough Wombarra Bowling Club, offering both casual and formal dining options. If you're in the mood for exploring, nearby centers like Austinmer, Thirroul, Stanwell Park, and Bulli are worth a visit, with their charming galleries, boutiques, and dining establishments.

"Coledale camp reserve is definitely one of our favourite places to stay! Thankyou so much to Nicole Roger & Jill with their very friendly nature & kindness who are very good at what they do. This Beautiful spot is like being on your own private beach!"
"Great experience camping directly on the beachfront. Grassy sites and well kept locked ammenities. So good waking up right on the ocean"
"Absolutely stunning spot. Basic facilities including the kitchen. Also stunningly rude service by the lady I talked on the phone. Booking is only online or on the phone however no answer on either phone numbers provided after 4pm. We stayed the night as there were multiple empty sites and called to pay in the morning. I got told off for not leaving a message (mind you we could have just driven away). You also have to provide your credit card details over the phone then hope it won't get used for any other payments, bit weird. Public toilet was disgusting."
"Just called to check for availability for the same night, unpowered site. Spoke to Nicole, made the booking. 25$ for the night unpowered, we paid by the phone and collected an envelope on arrival. The sites are spacious. Looking out to the ocean. Kitchen with fridge, no freezer, microwave and toaster. The bathrooms are clean. Careful there are 2 bathrooms. Public ones and others with a code. Use the ones with the code, given on arrival. The showers are clean and hot. I highly recommend."
