"After changing both of my girls over from another local school the difference I have noticed in them has really been incredible. They are so excited to go to school, have happy faces when collected and are absolutely raving about how kind and welcoming everyone is (both staff and students). They are also so excited to talk about what they have learnt each day, which they haven't done previously. If I could rate this school 10 stars I would!"
"We started this year and so far it's been great! Nice school with soild cohesive values and strong team of teachers and support workers. The events the school holds for the kids are honestly mind blowing and so alot of teamwork and organisational skills being put into play."
"Our kids enrolled a few weeks ago and they are settling in very well. All staff members are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The report comments are very kind and positive even when still developing skills. They have a great atmosphere and teach kids discipline. I would definitely recommend this school to everyone!"
"My unpleasant and disheartening experience was during the enrolment process at King's Logan Village and thought it was significantly important to share my experience with other parents particularly those who have children with special needs or a unique ability which is what I prefer to call it. My 8 yr old son and I visited the school on open day in which I was quiet open about my son's managed ASD (level 1)/ADHD condition. The staff and current students I spoke with were supportive of the school's acceptance of disabilities and diversity as well as its promoted Christian values which was appealing to us therefore I enrolled my school. After requesting a number of documents to support my son's diagnosis, he was rejected due to his disability and would only reconsider his enrolment in the future if I could provide a positive report of behaviour and interaction with other kids for 6 months. There was then a short line afterwards to say they did not have the facilities to cater for his needs even though they had never personally contacted me via phone or in person to discuss this further. I replied asking what they felt my son needed as his requirements were very limited and not surprisingly, they didn't reply. The email was so offensive, judgemental and inconsiderate and felt there were other sensitively constructive ways to word it. Being a single mum, isn't easy juggling children, full time work and adhering to my children's weekly appointments however I feel I have worked extremely hard to develop a structured routine and maintain consistency which includes changing my whole parenting strategy. I speak for all parents who are in the same position - life with a child who has a different ability is very challenging. I have since spoken to many other parents who had been in a similar position and/or had been pushed out due to their child's disability which was very sad to hear. It appears to me that there is particular types of children that the school wants which they are indirectly portraying. If they had the knowledge and training of ASD/ADHD, it should be evident that many of those conditions appear as behavioural disadvantages and minimises if the child is getting the right internal support over time. We have since found 2 other reputable schools who have welcomed my son with open arms and one without a Learning department so to me, that is no excuse. If any parents want to talk to me further about my experience. I would love to help so please feel free to contact me."
